CHAIN O' LAKES PATRIOTS: WHO'S CALLING THE SHOTS ON OUR WATER?
Enough small talk. Let's get down to business.
You pay the boat sticker fees. You deal with the no-wake zones. You navigate the shallow channels. You spend your hard-earned money on the Chain O' Lakes every summer.
So here's the question nobody in a suit wants you asking: who actually makes the decisions about our waterway, and whose interests are they serving?
The Fox Waterway Agency has authority over boating regulations, waterway restrictions, dredging priorities, and millions of dollars in spending. That's a hell of a lot of power over a place that belongs to the people who live here.
THE CHAIN BELONGS TO THE CHAIN
This is not Lake Michigan's lakefront. It's not a downtown park district. It's not a playground for Springfield bureaucrats or Chicago-style politics that treats every problem as a reason for more fees, more rules and more control.
We've all watched it happen elsewhere. The progressive playbook shows up dressed as "safety" or "management," and before long the people who live on the water and fund it with their own money are the last ones consulted. Restrictions pile up. Costs go up. Decisions get made by people who don't launch a boat on Grass Lake, don't tie up outside a dock bar on Fox Lake, and don't dodge the sandbars in the channels.
We don't want liberal, outside-Chicago influence running our waterway. We want local voices, local accountability, and money spent where boaters can see it: dredging, maintenance and keeping the Chain open for the families who've used it for generations.
THE RULES. THE MONEY. THE MAINTENANCE. THE DECISIONS.
If everything is running perfectly, great. Come say so. But if you've ever wondered where your sticker money goes, why some channels get dredged and others don't, or who decided the latest restriction, this is your night.
No boring speeches. No political theater. No sugarcoating.
Have questions? Bring them. Have something to say? Let's hear it.
