This is not a one-off. This is not a paperwork error. This is what decades of weakness, excuses, and political cowardice look like in real life.
Giang Van "Shorty" Doan should never have been walking free on American soil. Not after armed robbery. Not after meth trafficking. Not after gang ties. Not after a deportation order that should have ended the story more than twenty years ago.
Yet here we are.
Originally welcomed as a refugee in 1982, Doan repaid that generosity by joining violent gangs, pushing poison into communities, and repeatedly victimizing Americans. A nine-year armed robbery sentence. Ordered deported in 2002. Back on the streets anyway. More drug convictions. More damage. More victims. More proof that the system was never designed to protect the public, only to protect itself.
And what did the political class do while this criminal bounced in and out of prisons? They told us enforcement was "cruel." They told us borders were "complicated." They told us deportation was "inhumane." Meanwhile, real families paid the price.
This man was tied to a web of violent gangs and large-scale meth trafficking that poisoned neighborhoods and fueled gun crime. This was not a border crosser looking for work. This was not a paperwork mistake. This was a career criminal who had every opportunity to leave and every reason to be removed.
Instead, politicians chose ideology over safety.
That Ends Now
Under this administration, there are no more loopholes, no more endless appeals, no more catch-and-release for violent offenders. We use third-country removals. We enforce deportation orders. We make sure that when someone like this is removed, it is final. No revolving door. No return trips. No second chances at destroying American lives.
This is what law and order actually looks like. Not slogans. Not hashtags. Results.
If you are here illegally and you commit violent crimes, sell drugs, or join gangs, your stay is over. Period. You will be removed, and you will not be coming back.
The American people did not consent to becoming collateral damage in someone else's failed ideology. Our communities are not experiments. Our compassion does not extend to sacrificing our safety.
This arrest is not something to apologize for. It is something to replicate, over and over, until the message is unmistakable.
The era of excuses is over. The era of enforcement is back.
