THEY LEFT HER IN A GARBAGE CAN
And Illinois Leaders Still Defend the Policies That Failed Her
By Michael "Mickey" Scornavacco | MickeyX3.com
There are stories that should shake a state.
And then there are stories that should force change.
This is one of them.
Jennifer Bos is not speaking as a politician. She is speaking as a mother who buried her daughter. And what she now has to live with is something no parent should ever have to carry.
Not just the loss.
But what was done after.
According to Jennifer Bos, her daughter Megan Bos was hidden for seven weeks by Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez.
Left in a garbage can.
Soaked in bleach.
Placed upside down.
Not reported. Not respected. Not given dignity.
Hidden.
Let that sink in.
A Mother's Words
Here is Jennifer Bos, standing behind the petition for justice for Sheridan Gorman:
"I am Megan Bos's mother. And I am living a nightmare no parent should ever have to endure.
According to what I have been told and what I now carry with me every single day, my daughter's body was hidden for weeks by Jose Luis Mendoza-Gonzalez. She was placed in a garbage can, treated like trash, soaked in bleach, left upside down, and hidden instead of being given the dignity every human being deserves.
I want you to think about that. My daughter was not laid to rest. She was discarded.
This is what happens when a system fails. This is what happens when dangerous people are allowed to stay, when warning signs are ignored, and when policies protect the wrong people.
I am standing with this petition for Sheridan Gorman because I know exactly where this road leads. It leads to families like mine. It leads to funerals that should have never happened.
We cannot keep pretending this is normal. We cannot keep allowing this to happen.
If you have a voice, use it. If you have a vote, use it. Stand with us."

This Did Not Happen in a Vacuum
The political class in Illinois will tell you this has nothing to do with policy.
They will tell you these are isolated incidents.
They will tell you the system is working.
But families like Jennifer Bos's know the truth.
When you combine:
- Sanctuary policies that limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement
- The Illinois Trust Act, which restricts local law enforcement from working with ICE
- The SAFE-T Act, which changed how detention decisions are made
- And a broader political culture that prioritizes ideology over enforcement
You create a system where failures are not just possible.
They are inevitable.
And when that system fails, it is not politicians who pay the price.
It is daughters.
They Will Deflect. We Will Not.
They will say this is "politicizing tragedy."
They will say "don't jump to conclusions."
They will say "wait for all the facts."
But how many families have to bury their children before we are allowed to connect the dots?
How many warning signs have to be ignored?
How many times do we hear "this should have never happened" before someone is held accountable?
Jennifer Bos is already living the outcome of those failures.
This Is Why the Petition Exists
This petition is not about scoring political points.
It is about forcing accountability where there has been none.
It is about demanding that laws and policies actually protect the people they are supposed to serve.
It is about justice for:
- Megan Bos
- Sheridan Gorman
- Every family that has been left behind in the wake of preventable tragedy
Enough
Enough pretending.
Enough deflecting.
Enough policies that sound good in press releases but fail in real life.
Jennifer Bos does not get to move on.
She does not get to forget.
And neither should we.
Sign the Petition
If this doesn't move you, nothing will.
If this doesn't demand action, what does?
Stand with Jennifer Bos.
Stand for accountability.
Stand for the daughters who deserved better.
